Jawwad Ahmed Farid
Jawwad is a serial entrepreneur, an MITEF business acceleration plan (MIT BAP) runner up, an Asia Pacific ICT Award finalist and a PASHA ICT Award Winner. He has served as a judge at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards in Macau, Singapore, Jakarta, Kula Lumpur, Pattaya, Brunei and Hong Kong as well as at PASHA ICT Award in 2006 to 2014 and as a mentor to startup teams at the MITEF BAP competitions. He currently serves as the chief judge and mentor for the Pakistan delegation at APICTA.
Jawwad is the founder and CEO of Alchemy Technologies, an enterprise risk practice that builds and deploys credit risk, treasury & regulatory reporting platforms. He is the author of Reboot, Understanding Commodities Risk, and Risk Application and Frameworks. Two of his more recent titles(Models at Work, An Option Greeks Primer) were published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2013-2014 as part of a two book deal.
Jawwad is an actuary by profession, a computer scientist by training, and a Columbia Business School MBA. He teaches week long crash courses on entrepreneurship and risk management at the SP Jain campuses in Dubai and Singapore. Jawwad has worked directly as a founder and mentor at multiple startups including two green field life insurance companies, technology product businesses, financial services consulting operations, micro insurance, micro pensions and micro finance startups.
The ones he remembers the most are his failures.
Agnes is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (Schaumburg, IL). Her passion is mortality investigations and valuations of life and pension liabilities. She spent eleven years working with a portfolio covering 6 million lives with more than $3 billion in assets under management at one of the largest life insurance companies in the region. Agnes currently works as a quantitative and risk domain experts on our multiple risk and treasury system implementations.
An architect by profession, Uzma caught the media and production bug earlier on in her career. At Alchemy, Uzma runs the client services and Basel II implementation group as well as serves as an editor on multiple Alchemy and FinanceTrainingCourse.com publications.
